Since the recent price hikes by the privately-owned rail companies, some commuters are having to pay up to 23% of their salaries on rail travel. And separate research shows that some families are having to pay out up to 30% of their salaries for child care too.

That means that some people with young families now have to dish out more than half of their salaries before they even start their working day.

I thought the government wanted to help people get jobs?

The way this country’s going, UK workers will soon be having to pay our employers for the privilege of working for them.
