(satire – or is it?)
An apology to the Mail and David Rose
In several of my posts on my blog “Pride’s Purge”, I have made a number of defamatory statements about the Mail on Sunday, the Daily Mail and one of its reporters Mr David Rose.
I now acknowledge that there was no truth to the statements I made on this blog that the Mail on Sunday and the Daily Mail are newspapers which regularly print fabrications and untruths, have supported fascist parties or are owned by a family which has in the past been friendly with Hitler:
- I unreservedly and sincerely apologise to the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday for any suggestions I may have made in this blog that they are by any stretch of the imagination newspapers – when they quite clearly wouldn’t know a real piece of news if it stripped itself naked, painted itself bright pink and danced around singing “I’m a piece of news, come on baby, you know you want me” – and I am sorry for any inconvenience and damage which these untrue statements in my blog may have caused.
I am also happy to correct the assertions I made on this blog that Mr David Rose is a journalist who engages in spin, disinformation and downright lies:
- I unreservedly and sincerely apologise to Mr David Rose for any suggestion I may have made that he is or has ever been a real journalist and I am sorry for any inconvenience and damage which this untrue statement in my blog may have caused.
- I would also like to add that if I unwittingly gave the impression that Mr David Rose is in any way a bit of a twat, I unreservedly apologise for that too.

Not sure why you are beating this old drum tom we all know the faily mail is full of bile and non truths and that all time favourite picture vs caption competition.
I did wonder why you not ask why a doctor who hates the NHS had an item in DM asking why are we afraid to scrap benefits.. Is that worth a look? If you are interested let me know i will give you details..

When the Daily Heil had a Frank Sinatra (and various nonentities)Christmas songs CD with it yesterday, I was surprised they didn’t include a free copy of Nico’s ‘The End…’ with it too as it included a version of ‘Deutscheland Uber Alles’ (aka Coughs & Sneezes Spread Diseases for all Hancock fans!) Better be safe than sorry. An apology along sufficiently neutral and nebulous lines that totally obscure the reason for which you are apologising may suffice.

I think we should hold an Inquiry into Tom’s apologising, to decide whether or not it is aplogistically acceptable.
We could also start an Inquiry into whether or not it is permissible to make words up, as we go along.
My reasoning is that we could get a lot of people off Jobseeker’s Allowance, if we gave them useful jobs … such as sitting on Inquiries.
I think I’ve just solved all of this country’s problems at a stroke!
But … I could be wrong … so I suppose we’d need an Inquiry into my idea.
Of course, there are better ideas, called “Bradburys”:

I rather think the daily mail should apologise for running the campaign against hewit and Harman over PIE without accepting there I’dmore serious stuff in ttheir own camp
It is a defection away from the ex home office tory minister videoed abusing a young boy and identified with testimony
