Believe it or not, this is not satire.
A Christian group has attributed Tesco’s recent sales slump over the Christmas period to divine intervention after the company’s decision to sponsor a Gay Pride event.
He must be pretty mad with Tesco’s because the slump reportedly lost the company 5 billion.
Strange then that he doesn’t seem all that bothered about all of these companies who used forced labour in Nazi concentration camps and are thriving today.
And these, including Kellogg’s, Bayer and Siemens who were involved in the holocaust.
And what about these companies who use child labour, including Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Disney, they all seem to be doing pretty well. Has He forgotten about them?
Oh and He seems to have overlooked these companies who have made millions in profits from war.
It’s also funny He hasn’t got round to doing anything about these companies, ranked the 12 most unethical in the world.
Of course I could go on but I’m already needing some theological guidance here.
Why does He find the time to ruin Tesco’s Big Price Drop promotion but not have the time to do something about these other companies?
Is He a secret Sainsbury’s fan?
Or what?

Well I’m not a fan of Tesco’s either but …..God doesn’t seem to have got his priorities right when He still hasn’t got round to punishing firms who profited from the Holocaust, does He?

absurd of course: the more troubling belief as that Teso have ‘lost’ money. It did not but what a wierdd world that accepts that share value is real. This strange view has been promulgated so much by the media that people believe it’s real money rather than nothing more the bookmakers’ chalked up odds am a blackboard.

Yes – you’re right of course. Losses in share value isn’t exactly real money.

that sort of belief is more insane than those espoused by self-[proclaimed Christians[sic] yet the media broadcast on the hour, every hour, that wealth is the same as fictional value and the intrinsic idiocy of believing that usurers create wealth

It is perfectly logical to withdraw your custom from a firm whose practises and policies you disagree with. Tesco decided to withdraw its support from cancer research and spend the money on “Gay Pride” instead. One of their senior managers publicly described people opposed to homosexual “marriage” as evil. I would have thought that was something of a Gerald Ratner moment regarding Tesco’s attitude to its customers.
There was also an unsuccessful attempt to get Tesco to identify lamb which has been produced to Halal standards. Why should Christians be deceived into eating meat which has been dedicated to another deity?
Additionally there is a purely secular campaign exposing Tesco’s misleading pricing practices – which often lead to large, “economy” packs being more expensive per unit than smaller ones.
All in all there are quite a few good reasons to shop elsewhere – and don’t forget that more people go to Church than go to football matches!
As they say “Every little helps”.

Most to do with their involvement with slave labour (work fare) then? Or the fact the economy is on it’s knees?
Or the fact they are one of the most unpopular employers to work for?
Or that Dame Shirley Porter is a gerrymandered?
Or because their bread tastes like cotton wool and their toilets are usually filthy?
Who knows?
