Never mind all the stuff about Liam Fox’s ‘friend’, what about the blackmail case he’s involved in?
You know the one where the Defence Secretary is allegedly involved in a conspiracy to blackmail a US company if it continued with its case against Harvey Boulter, a business friend of his.
Of course, innocent until proven guilty, Liam Fox didn’t blackmail anyone.
Call me old-fashioned, but time was when being even allegedly involved in something as serious as a blackmail case was a resignable offence for a cabinet minister*.
Or am I just being hopelessly naive?
*Personally speaking, I think being a bit of a nob should exclude anyone from ministerial position too but that seems to be more a requirement than a hindrance these days.
I think you mean “knob”, unless you are alluding to aristo-wannabees like Cameron and Osborne?

Dr Fox is a nob. He also happens to be a knob as well, so that’s a double whammy. Cameron and Osborne aren’t aristo-wannabees. They’re the real thing. They are knobs though.
