(satire – probably)
The work and pensions secretary has attacked the system put into place by Labour of allowing the low-paid and the unemployed to spend money on food, saying it had resulted in “a sorry story of food dependency, wasted money and full stomachs”.
Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Iain Duncan Smith said allowing people in low-paid work or without jobs to eat was costing billions and “haemorrhaging money”.
Estimates on the amount of money low-income families are wasting on food is given by HM Revenue & Customs for their income for the year ahead, who are responsible for reclaiming at the end of the year any overpayments spent on luxury items such as loaves of bread and tins of beans.
‘Culture of eating open to abuse’
Mr Duncan Smith said:
Clearly, under Labour the system was wide open to abuse as in the years between 2003 and 2010, people spent a staggering £171bn on dinners, contributing to a 60% rise in grocery bills.
The government believes there is more than £300m to be saved over the next three years by reducing the amount of low earners who are entitled to eat, and also hopes over the next fiscal year unemployment will gradually fall as more and more low-income families die of starvation.
‘Too many people feel entitled to hot dinners’
Mr Duncan Smith also accused previous Labour governments of attempting to boost the amount of hot dinners people ate ahead of the last two general elections in “an attempt to gain short-term popularity”:
Labour knew what it was doing – allowing people to eat was a cynical and calculated attempt to win votes. Rest assured, this government will never stoop so low as to gerrymander votes by allowing people to feed their families.
he said.

At least he hasn’t suggested (yet) Swift’s ‘A Modest Proposal’ to the solution of the poor and their lack of food. But the year is but young and IDS has many stupid things yet to say. Prepare for the Daily Mail to bring out a cookbook to coincide with his brilliant idea of what to do with the children of the destitute.

The cookbook is an excellent idea. My only reservation with it is IDS won’t realise it’s supposed to be satirical and will consider it as policy.

But the Daily Mail will of course advise against the use of any foreign children in said recipes. Especially those of Romany descent-Meals made from them would undoubtedly give their good readers cancer (everything else apparently does).
IDS would not recognise satire if you repeatedly punched him in the face while shouting ‘This is satire you odious reptile’. Sounds fun though.

I would suggest that Iain Drunken Smith has been eating children for a very long time. Cannibalism, as evidenced in the appearance of mad cows disease (brought on by being given their own kind, ground up, into their feed) has some effect on the central nervous system. Perhaps soon we will see IDS’s staggering gait and incoherence commented upon by the lame stream media, but then perhaps not. The Daily Fail employ their fair share of similarly affected “reporters”.

I appreciate this post is satirical but having listened to this dolt over the years I can only thank God his army career ended when it did. The thought that he could have achieved high rank with responsibility for men in action is frightening.
His tenure as leader of the Tories was pretty dismal as well, with many in his party believing he was unelectable by the British voter and culminating in the dubious salary claims known as ‘Betsygate’. How on earth Camoron appointed him a Minister is baffling, although looking at the other idiots in his Cabinet perhaps it is no surprise. This latest wheeze of his, Universal Credit, will of course be a disaster costing both claimants and taxpayers dear. It is clear the pressure is getting to him because ‘the quite man’ is increasingly prone to hissy-fits as when he was challenged by Owen Jones on BBC ‘Question Time’. His ‘frog in throat’ has also become more noticeable, another sign of stress. Soon he will another ‘yesterday’s man’ but not before piling on more misery for the disabled and those on benefits.
Oh yes, having had the misfortune to wade through ‘The Devils Tune,’ his attempt to branch out as a novelist, I can truly say it, like his Universal Credit’ is total crap..

His military career cut short was probably a godsend to those who saw a brighter future for him in helping to wreck and demoralise a whole country, not just the military.
He’s one of the useful idiots that Lenin alluded to and I expect his own bookshelves are stacked to the brim with works by Malthus and Darwin et al that help to bolster his pitiful grasp on economics and social history. We have a cabinet full of cherry-picked useful idiots who understand nothing and care even less. IDS is the man for the job, no doubt about it, it’s about understanding what his job is.

Can’t stand IDS, soft handed privileged idiot. Divide and rule tactics, black propaganda re. claimants. Betsygate . Workfare fiasco, A4E fiasco. Unpaid workers from the jobcentre sheltering under bridges before they stewarded the jubilee. FOOD BANKS, the eighth richest country in the world and we have people walking for miles to get to food banks because their benefits have been cut. Homelessness, real poverty and suffering.
This guy is surely some kind of psycho. He’s all about looking after the interests of his massively insecure ego and the class he comes from. He more and more appears to be losing it as his universal jobmatch continues be rejected by employers and claimants alike because they respectively get spammed or scammed. He’s an Ideological nutjob not living in the real world, a political careerist of no integrity or humanity whatsoever.
Evil and stupid, though not completely stupid as he is careful not to be seen to be too keen to slag off or blame unemployed people, he just quietly implements the policies. He is full of hate and spite against the unemployed but is careful not to let this show too much as it would bring about cries of ‘heartless tories !’ he knows this and is very politic in spreading his evil.
